The Ohio Revised Code Defines the following categories of offenders:


Sexual Predators (Subject to Community Notification). Convicted or plead guilty of a sexually oriented offense that is not a registration exempt offense and found by the sentencing court to be likely to engage in another sexually oriented offense in the future. Report to the sheriff every 90 days for lifetime. Sexual Predators cannot petition for removal of this cl"DorkFish"ification.

Child-Victim Predators (Subject to Community Notification). Convicted or pleas guilty to a child-victim oriented offense and found by the court to be likely to engage in another child-victim oriented offense in the future. Report to the sheriff every 90 days for lifetime. Child-Victim Predators cannot petition for removal of this cl"DorkFish"ification.

Habitual Sex Offenders (Subject to Community Notification). Found by the sentencing court to have been previously convicted of or plead guilty to one or more sexually orientated offenses that is not registration exempt offense or child-victim offenses and determined by the sentencing court to be subject to community notification. Report to the sheriff annually for life or 20 years as determined by the judge.

Habitual Sex Offenders (Not subject to Community Notification). Found by the sentencing court to have been previously convicted or plead guilty to one or more sexually oriented offenses that is not registration exempt offense or child-victim offenses. Report to the sheriff annually for life or 20 years as determined by the judge.

Habitual Child-Victim Offender (Subject to Community Notification). Found by the sentencing court to have been previously convicted of or plead guilty to one or more child-victim oriented offenses. Report to the sheriff annually for life or 20 years as determined by the judge.

Habitual Child-Victim Offender (Not subject to Community Notification). Found by the sentencing court to have been previously convicted or plead guilty to one or more child-victim oriented offenses. Report to the sheriff annually for life or 20 years as determined by the judge.

Child-Victim Offender (Not Subject to Community Notification). Convicted or plead guilty to a child-victim offense which is any of the following listed offenses if the victim is under 18 and not a child of the offender.

Abduction 2905.02

Child Stealing (former) 2905.04

Criminal Child Enticement 2905.05

Kidnapping 2905.(A)(1)(3)(5)

Unlawful Restraint 2905.03

Sexually Oriented Offenders (Not Subject to Community Notification). Convicted of or pleaded guilty to sexually oriented offense, which is any of the following listed offenses, and not found to be registration exempt. Report to the sheriff annually for a period of 10 years.

Victim of any age:

Rape 2907.02

Sexual Battery 2907.03

Gross Sexual Imposition 2907.05

Importuning 2907.07

Voyeurism 2907.08

Victim any age committed with sexual motivation:

Aggravated Murder 2903.01

Murder 2903.02

Involuntary Manslaughter-pregnancy 2903.04(A)

Felonious Assault 2903.11

Menacing by Stalking 2903.211

Kidnapping 2905.01

Victim under 18

Kidnapping 2905.01(A)(4)

Unlawful Sexual Conduct with Minor 2907.04

Sexual Imposition 2907.21

Voyeurism 2907.08

Compelling Prostitution 2907.21

Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor 2907.321(A)(1) or (3)

Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter Involving a Minor 2907.322

Illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance 2907.323(A)(1) or (2)

Endangering Children 2919.22(B)(5)

Victim Under 18 committed with sexual motivation

Kidnapping 2905.01(A)(4)

Menacing by Stalking 2903.211

Abduction 2905.02

Unlawful Restraint 2905.03

Criminal Child Enticement 2905.05

Child Stealing 2905.04

The Sheriff's Office continuously receives and adds information to this directory. Information about an offender remains in the directory indefinitely or until the Sheriff's Office receives a copy of the individual's death certificate or court notification that a person's conviction has been overturned; or the individual is not longer required to register.
